NGX Interactive Wins 2014 Silver Summit Creative Award With Help from Stampede!

Stampede Presentation Products Inc., North America’s largest distributor of high value added ProAV solutions, announced today that one of their dealers, NGX, has been awarded a 2014 Silver Summit Creative Award for their “Story of Medicines” project at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Pharmaceutical Sciences building in the Education Institution Interactive Media category. In order to make the educational visitor center a reality, NGX relied on Stampede to incorporate the best ProAV solutions on the market today.

“We’re honored to have been involved in supplying products for such an innovative and educational project,” Kevin Kelly, Stampede President & COO, said today. “NGX did a great job in transforming UBC’s visitor center to educate, inform and entertain. This entirely renovated space attracts and captivates prospective pharmaceutical students and encourages all visitors to seek out more information on their own.”

The “Story of Medicines” project at UBC features six innovative exhibits within an educational visitor center at the school’s Pharmaceutical Sciences building. The “Story of Medicines” exhibit takes visitors on an entirely interactive and informational journey through the science of medicine.

“We’re thrilled that our work on the Story of Medicines project for UBC Pharmaceutical Sciences was recognized with this prestigious award,” Thomas Hepburn, NGX Interactive Vice President of Business Development, said today.

The “Impact of Pharmacy” wall, a 26x7 ft dynamic projection wall is but one spectacular display of digital signage that entices visitors upon first entry. The videowall streams tidbits of information about the significance of pharmacy. Meanwhile, in the mezzanine, a 5x7 ft multi-touch wall encompasses the “Journey of a Drug” exhibit. Users can choose their own adventure with 3D animations to explain the science of how certain UBC-focused medicines work. Similarly, the “Life of a Drug” exhibit features an interactive timeline of six drugs that changed the world, from penicillin to birth control to insulin.

To win a 2014 Summit Creative Award, entries in 20 major categories are judged against a stringent set of standards. During its blind judging, a Board of Judges identify innovative and creative concepts, strong executions and the ability to communicate and persuade. Out of more than 5,000 submissions from 24 countries, NGX Interactive was selected as a winner.

“Stampede is proud to represent such innovation,” Kelly said. “This project provides a platform for visitors share their experience with friends and family, while creating a space for education and entertainment.”
